for Regina (unhappilyeverafter)
Marian was still frozen, and he knew he had to save her, he just at least realized it couldn't be from true love's kiss, he couldn't let go of Regina, couldn't forget the love that had developed between them. They would figure this out together now, both of them working to save Marian in some other way.
But he couldn't walk away from Regina again and leave his heart behind, couldn't breathe or think without her. He loved her, and though he knew it wasn't right to do this while Marian was still frozen, he needed her just tonight. They could figure everything else out later, they could talk and make sense of things.
For now, all he wanted was his hands on her, his lips pressed to hers as he kissed her so firmly, fingers gliding through her hair.

All she cared about was about much his hands could touch her at once, how much of her breath he could take with every kiss. Her hand slid up against the back of his head, fingers gripping against short strands of hair as she thought again and again how much she missed him, how much she'd missed this. She had tried so hard to push him away, to make him love Marian again and give her the kiss that would save her.
But here he was, reminding her again just what love felt like.
There was no pause to the kiss, no time to speak. Not yet. She didn't want to break apart this moment and ruin it with words. He'd said all that needed to be said, and she understood. He was tired of trying to do the honourable thing, and so was she.

"I've missed you," he managed to say, in between kisses, needing her to know that, needing to say it and make it real.

But then he spoke, and he made her dizzy for a whole other reason. She had missed him too, so much. Her heart broke and broke again every time she set eyes on him, everytime she saw the look of longing in the back of his. He wanted her, even when he shouldn't. She had to be the strong one, and she had been, up until now.
"Oh, Robin," she murmured against his lips, in the gaps she could mange between their kisses. Her hands only held onto him tighter, fearful of losing him as she once had, that he might pull back and this moment would fall away from them.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
He had made the right choice at the time, but now he could see clearly that it was unfair to Marian when he wasn't in love with her. He couldn't awaken her to a lie, but he wouldn't abandon her, either. Tonight, though, he needed his love, the woman who had sole claim to his heart, and whom he couldn't ever let go.
Cradling her face for a moment, his lips were a caress against hers before he let his hands wander again, down her back, down to her arse, pressing their hips together.
He needed her, so desperately.

She felt his hands roam her body, and her breaths staggered against his lips, eyes closing at the touch she was yearning for. Her hips met his and she gasped just softly against his mouth, holding her forehead to his as she took a moment to savour the emotion surging between them, of a love so powerful that it could create its own magic.
And too, so powerful that it was even beyond their control.
Her eyes slowly lifted, just enough to meet his, to see that dark, needful look reflected back in her own, and this time, it was she who grabbed him, pulling him back into another kiss. Her hands cupped at his face as she held him firmly into her kiss, giving him all she had and more.

He wasn't about to forsake that chance now. He couldn't risk that something else might happen, and part them again.
He needed her in every sense of the word.
"Regina..." His hands began to work at her dress, wanting uninhibited access to her skin, needing to take it off of her.

As he held her and felt at her, she could only breathes shakily against his lips, overwhelmed by every touch she'd been without for so long. Her teeth teased against his lower lip, and then again, a little quicker, until she couldn't hold back anymore, and it transformed back into a proper kiss.
Her hands climbed up to rake through his hair, encouraging him all the more, using her hold to press her body all the more to his. In this moment, she needed him just as much as he needed her.
"Robin," she then whispered again, stalling for just a moment, bringing her hand to his cheek. She tried to look at him, she tried to calm those erratic breaths, those thoughts that wanted to do nothing more than claim him for her own. "You talk about today.. but what about tomorrow? And the day after that?" She can't bear the thought of this being temporary, of having him back in every way, only to lose him again. She didn't think her heart could suffer that same hurt twice.

Breathless when their lips parted, and slightly flushed with desire, Robin swallowed heavily, meeting her eyes directly. It was a fair question for her to ask, and she deserved a truthful and thoughtful answer.
Taking her hand, he kissed her knuckles tenderly, letting out a heavy breath.
"I've been in agony the last few days, and I know I've put you through hell, Regina, and I'm sorry, truly sorry. I thought I was making the right choice, the choice that a good man would make."
He looked down. "A good man would have waited until we could unfreeze Marian, so that I could tell her the truth. But I can't wait, Regina, I can't bear another moment without you. I will tell her, she deserves someone who truly loves her, as I once did. But...Regina, I let her go so many years ago, and my...my heart and my future are with you."

Her eyes closed when he called himself a good man, believing he was about to make that choice. The choice to be the man he ought to be for Marian, but then, her eyes open, when she realises it's taking an entirely different path. A path towards her, in spite of all that it meant.
Her lips slowly part as she stares at him, her dark eyes brimmed with tears, and she feels everything he says with every fibre of her being. He means it. There's no doubt in him now. This is not just about today, this is for every day that'll ever come, and they'll face them together.
She smiles a wobbly smile, her hand caressing at his cheek, tears threatening to spill as she gazes at him with so much adoration, so much relief.
"You have no idea how much I've longed to hear you say that," she confessed, slowly shaking her head.

But they would keep trying to save her, he wouldn't give up, and he didn't think Regina would either.
For now, though, his most important and urgent concern was for Regina, for the pain he'd caused, and hoped to soothe.
He turned his head to kiss her palm, eyes closing for a moment, then flickering open again. "I wanted to be the one person in your life who had never caused you any manner of pain, and I have. I will spend the rest of my life making that up to you."

All that mattered, was what happened from here on out. All that mattered, was that they faced it together.
"You are a good man, in spite of all that you think. And you make me a better person too."
The things she would've done had it not been for his love that held her back. He had healed her in so many ways, and guided her even when they'd been apart.

Pressing his forehead to hers, a soft and happy sigh fell from his lips as he kissed her gently.
"I want only to be with you."

Her hands lifted to rest against at the side of his face, holding him gently as her head tilted, savouring just another kiss more, and another.

His lips parted, inviting her to taste, wanting to deepen the kiss even further.

But she knew she needed more, they both needed more, and despite how slowly they had been taking this, there was now no need for it. All the damage that could've been done, had been done, and yet somehow, they were stronger than ever. There was nothing else to wait for.
Breathless, her lips pulled back from him, enough so that she could look him over, no secret to the way her eyes savoured him. She didn't speak, but then, with that look on her face, she really didn't need to.

Today, he wasn't following his rules, and neither was she. This was one moment outside all of that, of every thought and guilt that might hound them afterwards. She didn't want to stop and reflect on that now, and the only way to make sure she didn't, was to keep going.
As the zip creaked down her back, she breathed a little heavier against his lips, feeling the cool air of her vault brush up against her skin, skin that longed to the touched by other means. It was a favour she wanted to return, though Robin had considerably more to remove that she had. She smirked slightly to herself at the thought, her hands drifting from his face so she could push off the gilet, that already an improvement when she could feel the warmth of his skin through his shirt.
